Durants Planning a New Retail Space on Route 9

In an exciting new development, is the plan for Durants Event Rentals to move into the long empty space at 1 Stage Door Road at the Route 9 entrance to the town.

A Discussion was held at the September 14 Planning Board on the planned improvements:

1) Parking - enabling better flow and access

2) New Septic System

3) New Entrances accomodating their Rental and Storage requirements

4) a Propane filling area (they are planning to install an 1000 gallon tank - which will be screened and have bollards)

5) Lot line consolidation of three parcels into one

6) There will be some wetland disturbance during construction - driven by the work to manage the storm water)

7) Improvements to landscaping

So they have more work to do -- checking with DEC on habitat report, lighting plan, work with the Board of Health etc. -- so no approvals just yet, but the board seems very ammenable to their plans.
