The water main break has been repaired and the system is beginning to pressurize. Discolored water will be common and the opening of larger water lines in the home such as tubs, will help clear this issue quicker. The water is potable, sanitary and safe for cooking and bathing

There is a water main break which has been identified on Blackthorn Loop that has impacted water service throughout the central areas of the Town of Wappinger.   CAMO Pollution Control has been actively working to remediate this situation. Residents have been experiencing low water pressure as a part of this work due to the amount of water that has been discharged.

Residents of the United Wappinger Water District, West of Spook Hill Road including the Chelsea Hamlet in the Town of Wappinger are being advised to limit water use. CAMO Pollution Control, Inc. will be flushing hydrants between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. beginning Monday October 27th through November, 21st 2025.
