The June 13 ZBA meeting moved through the usual business (The Alpine Commons Project was published on the agenda through the weekend... and was dropped on the agenda used for the meeting, with no comment as to why),

An adjourned public hearing for a shed requiring a variance on a Larissa Lane property was reopened -- with the ZBA approving the request.

Then three discussions were held, all requiring site visits on June 24 and Public Hearings on June 27th.

A property on Red Hawk Hollow Road is requesting a variance for a setback to install an above ground pool in the backyard.

A property on DeGarmo Hills Road requires a set-back variance to legalize an existing screened in porch so the property can be sold.

A property on Spook Hill Road is requesting a variance to install a 6 foot high fence instead of the town code of 4 feet.

The members of the board acknowledged receiving Barbara Roberti's letter with her interpretation of the as-of-right number of housing units for the Alpine Commons. The details of the letter were not discussed or made available to the public.

Then the question of hiring a new attorney to support the ZBA was brought up (again). The answer is that an RFP (request for proposal) has to be published and that interviews have to be conducted. Ms. Roberti mentioned that the Town Planning Board is also looking to hire an attorney to support them. She has created a position role definition for the attorney for the Planning Board, and explained that the planning board requirement is more complicated than for ZBA, but that she will prepare another position definition for the ZBA to review. She cautioned that it may take until the fall to find a replacement. A vote was taken by the board to go ahead with this action - 3 Yea, 1 Nay and 1 Abstain.
