Wow... where to begin? First we learn of a suit against the town... only through questions about a settlement with the firm suing the town -- which apparently the town board had no knowledge of the settlement.

Then - only through MidHudson News do we learn of a decision by a judge on another suit against the town -- that was not made public...

Then, in an attempt to appeal this decision... a "Special" Town Board Meeting was called for November 27th...only to have it cancelled at 6:08 PM before the 7 PM start time.

This article (who provided this information to MidHudson News? and Why?)

So many questions -- Is there a time frame in which appeals have to be submitted to the court? Is the attorney advising the town board the same one whose advice got them in the mess they are in? Why is the Town Supervisor against calling a special board meeting to deal with the issue (if that is in fact what happened) ? Does the Town Supervisor agree with the judge's decision? Are the town residents properly represented in all of this? Did the Town Supervisor agree to the zoning change called into question ... or did he not want the zoning change (which was explained as a clarification/alignment to the Master Plan)? Why did he not want this zoning change? Who determined that the special meeting was "illegal"? Where is the Deputy Supervisor who is supposed to be available in the absence of the Town Supervisor?

And what other messes are going to be uncovered in the coming days/weeks/months? So far there is the Hughsonville debacle, the Downey Energy project, the Joey Estates that have resulted in trips to the courthouse.... is Alpine Commons far behind?
