Speedy Planning Board Meeting

The September 13 Planning Board meeting covered the agenda in rcord time, ending the meeting approximately 30 minutes after it began.

The first item on the agenda was to approve a Subdivision Resolution for a property into two lots. The Property is in both the Town of Wappinger and Town of Fishkill on Smithtown and Cedar Hill Roads. The resolution was approved.

A CarMax engineer and lawyer reviewed the dilemma that they presented to the board at an earlier meeting, that is needing to do some construction to satisfy Board of Health Requirements, but needing BOH approval before a building permit could be issued. The Board granted them ability to do some demolition work and to install a fill pad required by the Board of Health. This is for their property at 1105-1115 Route 9.

The firm wishing to work with a homeowner on Dugan Lane to install a ground mounted solar array came before the board to request clarification on what additional information is required on the site plan, as in their mind they had fulfilled all the requirements. Basically the site plan needs to expliciticly state that no trees will be cut down, so therefore the Indiana Bat will not be affected ... and that there are no municipal water or sewer lines servicing the property... (this seems a bit disingenious...having to list everything that is NOT on the property... no airfields, no flight patterns will be interrupted... where does it end... and again.. why didn't the building department provide a simple checklist of what they do and do not want to see on site plans).

Chelsea Farm Subdivision -on Chelsea Road and North River Road no one was at the meeting representing the buyer or the seller. A short discussion on the status of the tree restoration bond, no trees have been planted - so a return of the bond seems premature - to either the buyer or the seller.

A 90 day extension was granted to Bertero Subdivision on Stonykill Road. The reasons for the request was to get BOH approval. The Board would like to see the BOH communication before extending beyond the November date.
