Legal Stuff —
Our case is still in court … and is in the process of being reassigned to a new judge. The good news is that we still have an active case and even though the developer continues to build - it is at his own risk. The bad news is that the judicial processes take time. Please help us by reassuring neighbors and those who ask - "yes we are still in court on this - a final decision has not been made" (and any help with legal fees is greatly appreciated).
Clean-up Day - April 13
The Community Association has “adopted” Old Hopewell Road/New Hamburg Road between Route 9 and Wappinger Creek - meaning that we try to keep it reasonably free from litter and junk along the sides of the road by hosting a clean-up twice a year. Our Spring Clean-up is scheduled for April 13 - please meet at 9 a.m. at the Obercreek. Farm Stand. We’ll have “grabbers”, bags and water — please bring your work gloves. Thank you!
PS April 20 is the New Hamburg Neighborhood Association Clean-up - meet at the train station, river side - 9 a.m.
Gardens at Hughsonville Signs -
A garden designer has created garden designs for each of the “Hughsonville” signs on 9D - to help welcome people to our hamlet and beautify our neighborhood. The garden will have native shrubs - inkberry and elderberry, as well as perennials/bulbs such as black-eyed susans, phlox, spadework and daffodils. The town has provided mulch. We have also been given a generous commitment from a Community Association member to match any donation given to the association to pay for the plants and the installation of the garden!!! If you would like to donate to the garden please do so - either through our website www.hughsonvilleandwheelerhill.org or a check made out to the Hughsonville and Wheeler Hill Community Association PO Box 492, Hughsonville NY 12537.
Thank you for your ongoing interest and support…
