Town Board as Thespians (maybe that isn't news)
The June 8 Town Board Meeting included a resolution to update the 2026 Town Board Meeting schedule to state that the July 6th Town Board meeting will be held at Mesier Homestead in the village - with the board members in period costumes - as part of the Nation's 250 year anniversary. The supervisor stated that 30 members of the public would be able to be accomodated at the meeting.
The Public Hearing regarding the "unadopted" town law in the was opened -- no one commented, but the public hearing was kept open - and adjourned to the August Meeting -- as was Resolution 2026-104 which would void the law.
During the Public Portion of the meeting, a developer/town property owner asked that board reconsider the proposed zoning map changes.
The Resolution appointing Anthony Riccardi III as approved electrical inspector for the town was approved as part of the consent agenda.
The board approved a $61,000 contract to do paving at Carnwath Farm Park and Reese Park (the creek road trail head entrance and parking area). The proposed paving work contract for work at Schlathaus Park is still being worked on. Heather O'Dell asked that stairs at Carnwath be repaired - and it was agreed.
The resolutions dealing with the zoning map were tabled until after an executive session - upon which time the board returned from executive session and voted to approve the resolutions setting the Public Hearing for a new Zoning Map and the town as a Lead Agency for June 22.

Cautioned motorcycle drivers to be more careful
Council Member O'Dell emphasized the investment in parks, enabling future grown, maintaining laws and ensuring the quality of life in Wappinger is preserved.
Council Member Phillips - emphasized that the town board is fighting for veterans and reminding everyone that the town water infrastructure is 70 years old and "the quality of the materials used at that time were not 'top grade'" - so Camo is doing their best to continue to repair the water leaks.
