Town has new Official Zoning Map

The June 22 Town of Wappingers Town Board meeting agenda included a Public Hearing on the new Zoning Map -- in which one resident lectured the board on virtues and other residents supported the proposed changes ... and at resolution time, the Board voted to adopt the new Zoning Map which identifies new Hamlet Mixed Use Zones as well as new R-80 zones, aligning with the realities of what the land - with storm water regulations, wetland protections, and easements enables. Council Member Beale announced his decision not to run for another term, and provided an oral history of his time in office.


Consent Agenda - All approved


  • Accepted resignation of Code Enforcement Clerk

  • Awarded a bid for line striping of town roadways

  • Authorized the Town Supervisor to execute a license agreement to allow a drone docking station at the town highway department

  • Authorized an application for grant funding for "Carnwath Manor Feasibility Study and Preliminary Engineering Project"

  • Reaffirmed the 2007 Carnwath Farms Master Plan

  • Authorized the Town Supervisor to execute the Dial-A-Ride agreement with the County


Tabled the resolution regarding United Water District Improvements.


Resolutions -

  • Repealed the current Zoning Map - Approved

  • Authorized the sale of property to county to replace a culvert on All Angels Hill Road - Approved

  • Approved Improvements and application for funding to the Fleetwood Manor Water & Sewer Districts, the Wildwood Water and Sewer Districts, the Mid-Point Water and Sewer Districts.


New Business


The Town Supervisor discussed his intention at pursuing actions to enable the TOW to step away from Tri-Muni Waste Water Agreement, looking to build a new plant near Reese Park.


Town's First Farmer's Market was held on June 22 - good participation.


World Cup Watch Parties being held at Schlathaus Park.


Wappingers Historical Society held Spirit of Mesier Event on June 19th at Carnwath Chapel.

WHS to install new Blue & GoldHistorical Markers in town.


Chelsea Yacht Clut held their open house event.


Pet Adoption event held at Spook Hill Park


Road Pavement Projects Completed.


June 25th Summer Camp Kick-off


June 25th Pickleball event -- Town of Wappinger Officials vs. Town of Fishkill Officials.
