Two public hearings were held at the ZBA on February 14th. The ZBA approved a variance for a home on Fox Hill Road where 2 smaller decks will replace the current deck - requiring a variance for the setback requirements. The second public hearing for a home on Schlichter Road was adjourned. The existing home was built very close to the property line and there was a discussion about the possible solutions... along with a discussion of whether a gutter is is included as part of the measurement... yes, the building is THAT close to the property line.
A discussion was held regarding a request for an accessory apartment proposed for a home on Gold Road. The ZBA seemed very focused on the ability to have the property revert to to a single-family home in the future and the size of the proposed addition (1427 sf where 1000 feet are allowed). The public hearing is scheduled for February 28th.
A discussion was held about setbacks and street frontage requirements for a proposed subdivision on Ketchamtown Road. Involved is a garage built approx 100 years ago and ensuring that the proposed subdivision and lot re-alignment have the proper variances. The public hearing is scheduled for February 28th.
No mention of the Town of Wappinger Planning Board Letter to the ZBA regarding Alpine Commons (see the February 7 news item re: the Planning Board's recommendation).
