Water District Extension Approved - and Hughsonville & Chelsea Fire Districts holding public hearings on 2026 Budgets on October 22

The Town Board Meeting on October 14 began at 6 PM to accomodate other meetings being held at Town Hall. In addition of the Consent Agenda items (all approved - listed below), the Town Board held two public hearings - neither one receiving any public comment.

Public Hearing #1 - Extension of the United Wappinger Water District to include the Wappingers Falls Mobile Home Park on New Hackensack Road

Public Hearing #2 - Extending the Moratorium on Multi-family developments in the Town.

  • of course if the. public didn't get the notice last minute change of time to the meeting, thus the public hearings... that may have had some impact on the participation.


The Town Board (with only 4 members in attendance, Ward 2 not represented at this meeting), approved Extension #12 to the United Wappinger Water District to enable the Wappingers Falls Mobile Home Park residents to be connected to Town Water.

  • Resolution accepting the resignation of a Deputy Town Clerk

  • Resolution acknowleding the termination of a town employee

  • Resolution appointing a seasonal laborer in Buildings & Grounds

  • Resolution hiring Trevor Devine for the Highway Department

  • Resolution hiring Tyler Cinelli for the Highway Department

  • Resolution authorizing Memorandum of Agreement with Teamsters Union

  • Resolution adopting the assessment percentages used from the New York State Office of Real Property

  • Resoluion setting a public hearing for October 27 for the purposes of purposes of hearing and considering any objections which may be made to the benefit assessment rolls for the Special Improvement Districts and Special Improvement Areas in the Town of Wappinger listed below for Fiscal Year 2026:

    • Contract of $170,000 with the Laberge Group to perform work related to the rezoning of properties consistent with the Town Code and Comprehensive Plan updates adopted earlier this year

  • Adopted Local Law Extending Moratorium on Multi-family Developments

  • Resolution Approving Memorandum of Agreement with CSEA


Buried in the Correspondance Log is notice that Public Hearings for the Hughsonville and Chelsea Fire District Budgets will be held October 22 - 6:00 in Hughsonville and 5:30 in Chelsea. -- Another element of your property tax bill.
